There is a new Fall/Winter menu at Tony Roma’s called “Spice So Nice” that is only available for a limited time from now until December 23rd. Luckily, I had the opportunity to taste the entire menu along with my husband a little over one week ago on a Sunday afternoon. For as long as I can remember I hadn’t stepped foot inside a Tony Roma’s in years because they had closed the nearest one by my house along with other locations as well so I was a bit nervous and excited at the same time to dine at Tony Roma’s once again after many years because I didn’t really know what to expect.

It was my second time dining at Tony Roma’s but my first time visiting the Sunny Isles Beach location which actually happens to be one of the longest standing locations in South Florida. The restaurant itself is in a very nice location right near the beach and they even have a little patio area outside where people can sit outdoors if they prefer. When I walked inside I noticed that the interior of the restaurant was very clean and modern with very simple decor and what I liked about it was that they had these half oval shaped red table booths that were super comfortable along the walls and that it wasn’t packed even though it was the weekend so we were attended and served fairly quickly.

Our waitress Chantelle little by little brought out everything we ordered from the “Spice So Nice” menu starting with the Spiced Cider Romatini and Jalapeño Buffalo Shrimp. The Spiced Cider Romatini is a cocktail that is made with Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, apple cider, and lemon juice. I thought it was really good because of the apple cider and cinnamon whiskey in it and I really think it’s the perfect Fall/Winter drink. For starters we had the Jalapeño Buffalo Shrimp which were absolutely delicious and was my second favorite menu item. I am a huge fan of shrimp and anything spicy so this dish did not disappoint at all! I loved the Buffalo sauce that it was tossed in and I felt that the homemade classic ranch sauce complimented it so well.

For Entrees there were two choices: Chimichurri Salmon and Black Pepper Ribs & Filet Medallions with Horseradish Butter. Since I wanted something on the lighter side and I was curious about how the sauce would taste with the fish I went with the Chimichurri Salmon and my husband went with the Black Pepper Ribs & Filet Medallions since he is a huge meat lover. Normally, I am very picky with Salmon and how it’s seasoned and cooked since it has a very strong taste to it but I was honestly really impressed with Tony Roma’s twist and version of it. What I thought really made the dish unique and amazing was the Chimichurri sauce that they put on top of it because it really enhanced the flavor of the Salmon and made it even better! Plus, I liked that it was grilled and tasted fresh. The dish also came with saffron & kale rice and seared garlic green beans which I thought paired very well with the Salmon. I wasn’t too crazy about the garlic beans but I really did like the rice because it was very light and had a good seasoning and taste to it.

Although it was my husbands dish I did manage to try two pieces of the black pepper ribs and of the filet medallions just to compare the two dishes and let me just say that I was really impressed with his dish as well. The ribs were delicious because the meat was soft and it was covered in the most amazing honey barbecue sauce and the filet medallions were tender, packed with lots of flavor, and were cooked medium well just the way we ordered it. The best part was the Horseradish butter served on top of the steaks which was nothing like I ever had before, so delicious!! To save the best for last, my husband and I had the Cinnamon Apple Cranberry Cobbler for dessert which was my absolute favorite item from the “Spice So Nice” menu and is made in house! I love cobblers in general but this one has to be by far one of the best ones that I’ve had! You just can’t go wrong with it because it has apples, cranberries, and cinnamon in it and it’s served warm with two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream! This is definitely a must if you’re planning on stopping by Tony Roma’s during the next few weeks.

Overall, My husband and I really enjoyed all of the dishes that were part of this special Fall/Winter menu and I would definitely come back another time to try their regular menu and/or get my hands on another Cinnamon Apple Cranberry Cobbler! Our waitress Chantelle was amazing because she was very friendly, had such a great attitude, and was always attentive to our table. The staff were also very welcoming along with the manager who came out several times to check up on our table and to see how we were doing. I would definitely recommend trying out this menu before it’s gone because the quality of food was honestly better than I thought. Plus, something interesting about the restaurant is that they make all of their sauces and desserts in house which I think is very impressive!
